CASTINGHUB Launches America’s Next Top Model

CASTINGHUB has done it again! Newark resident and model extraordinaire Aspen Ireland, is about to catapult into fame now that she has signed with Wilhelmina Philadelphia. At just 9 years old, Aspen Ireland already shows more tenacity and talent than most people you may meet. She has always known that she wanted to be a star and that nothing would stop her from making that dream come true.

Monique Ireland described how she found out about this amazing opportunity:

“I submitted Aspens information I found through Casting Hubs site under representation in the Philadelphia area. A few weeks after that I received an email about being selected for an open call on November 30th.  The following Monday I received a call telling me that Aspen was chosen to be represented by Wilhemina talent agency. Now we are preparing Aspen for her photo shoot with Wilhemina so that she can be viewed as an actor and model on Wilhemina’s website!”

CASTINGHUB first saw Aspen’s amazing talent in Philadelphia in May of 2013 and right away,  CASTINGHUB scouts  honed in on Aspen’s it factor. The dedicated team at CASTINGHUB rallied around Aspen. Aspen learned about the open call for Wilhelmina Philadelphia and was determined to show everyone that she is America’s next top model. CASTINGHUB describes Aspen’s talented mystique as ”raw sophistication WELL beyond her years.” And “This little starlet is guaranteed to shine”.

To be a Wilhelmina model means that you are the best of the best. Wilhelmina Philadelphia is the premiere modeling agencies in Pennsylvania and part of one the most well-known and well regarded modeling agencies in the world. Wilhelmina Philadelphia has discovered amazing talent such as Brittani Kline, the cycle 16 winner of America’s Next Top Model. The children’s division  has placed its talent in films such as “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” and the 2013 blockbuster starring Johnny Depp “Lone Ranger”; television networks like Nickelodeon; and the Broadway of Annie.

Aspen got her first taste of the acting bug in elementary school while performing in the Black History Month play at her school, and that was what first made Aspen realize just how much she loved to be on stage and in the spotlight. But acting is not enough for Aspen. She also excels in dancing styles including Ballet, Tap and Jazz, and also had done runway modeling for Moya Heyward and Renee Larue.

Aspen’s story is just one of the many testaments to CASTINGHUB’s dedication to finding the next big stars. To learn about more CASTINGHUB’s success stories, visit

The Color of 2014

Every year Pantone comes out with a color of the year. For 2013, that color was emerald. Now that we are slowly coming closer to the new year the color of 2014 is “Radiant Orchid”.

Pantone said, “While the 2013 color of the year, Pantone 17-5641 Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination. Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

The color is a great indicator of what will be popular this year not only in fashion, but also in advertising as well. The color has been featured for 2014 fashion shows already and we will probably be seeing more of it in the new year.

How will you wear “Radiant Orchid” in the new year?

10 Years Later

It seems that when it comes to entertainment and TV, the more things change, the more they stay the same. We have have all kinds of new shows and concepts, yet they all reflect the shows of the past.

In 2003, reality TV was still relatively new, now it’s just everywhere and there are entire television channels devoted to them. We have seen into the lives of housewives, celebrities, and everyone else in between. The West Wing dominated as the top political thriller on television, and now Scandal has taken on that role. Although the focus is on Olivia Pope, people are still glued their seats and the President is still the most powerful person in country.

TV has frustrated us with crazy endings that made no sense (Dexter anyone?) and people are still trying to make big splashes on VMAs. We still have shows about young women who are trying to find themselves, they’ve just moved on from grade school to their early 20s. Vampires dominated the supernatural genre, and 10 years later Vampires are showing up everywhere.

It seems at the end of the day, although the storylines and premises are different, the major ideas remain. It seems to be a case of “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it”.

The Amazing Spider Man Sequel

We are officially excited for this movie. It’s 2 minutes worth of great information and a great visual idea of what to expect from this movie. We see a lot of new villains and are especially excited to see Jamie Foxx playing Electro. There has been a lot of teasing about Electro so seeing him in action and even have a short voice over established that he’s going to be a big threat (or at least one of many).

The tone of the movie looks a lot darker and more serious. The movie is raising the stakes for Spider Man and this may be the movie where (SPOILER ALERT) Emma Stone’s character dies. We can’t to see more teasers come our way! Are you excited to see the new movie?

Best Performances of 2013

I choose my favorite movie performances of 2013. Who gets your vote?

With the success of Frozen in the box office and it’s music being heralded as one of the best that Disney had done in so long, we thought we’d take a trip down memory lane and count down our favorite Disney songs

Which is your favorite Disney song?

The Pressures of Fame

Joe Jonas’s paper seems to highlight the struggles of growing up in the lime light. His essay highlights many things including keeping to his Disney brand and basically trying to remain as youthful as possible, staying in a relationship with Demi Lovato and the incident in 2010, among other things.

It is well known that Disney can be a star maker, as some of the most talked about and sought after celebrities of our generation have some kind of Disney background, but few people really realize just how hard it is to actually be an actor, singer, etc. The entertainment industry is definitely not for the wishy-washy person. It is something that you really want to have to do. The entertainment industry is filled with hard work and rejection until you are lucky enough to get that big break.

Because being in the public eye is so hard, it’s always good to surround yourself with people who care about you and will ground you. This goes for anyone in the entertainment industry, but especially for the younger ones. We’re glad to see now that Joe Jonas and his brothers have seem to found happiness in what they do and a sense of much deserved freedom in their careers.
